Bizarre Adventures #28 |
8. Bizarre Adventures v1 #28, 1981 - This collection of unlikely heroes includes Elektra, appearing in her first solo story since her introduction in Daredevil #168. Frank Miller's outstanding artwork rivals some of his best work on that title. The opening splash page is stunning, followed by impeccable layouts and drawings (this story was later reprinted in Elektra Saga #1 in full color). In another story, Neal Adams introduces the Shadow Hunter, a diminutive but explosive kung-fu hero. Although he shares credits with other artists, Adams' contribution is unmistakable. His opening splash is cleverly conceived, enabling the character to emerge from a solid black background. Other artists in this issue include Wendy Pini, Steve Smallwood, Michael Golden and Steve Mitchell. Cover by Bob Larkin. This is 1 of 1 Bizarre Adventures issues by Adams and 1 of 2 Bizarre Adventures issues by Miller. /// key 1st appearance, 1st origin Shadow Hunter, 1st solo story Elektra / Top 10 Miller comics
