Frank Miller |
Daredevil v1 #168, 1981 -
Frank Miller takes over the scripting chores, introducing Daredevil's lost love turned assassin,
Elektra. Most of the issue is told in flashback, in small but numerous panels. A good bit of dialogue fills the panels, but the artwork itself is sparingly detailed. The visuals certainly reinforce, rather than detract from the storytelling, but seem hurried in execution. Miller's cover, with their bold lightning flashes, strikes me as overly dramatic. I do appreciate, however, that Elektra remains obscured to pique the reader's interest. Several pages of this first appearance were later reprinted in
Elektra Saga #1. This is 10 of 33
Daredevil issues by
Miller. Read my commentary on
this issue's historical significance. ///
