Tarzan #154 |
Tarzan of the Apes v1 #154, 1965 - In the lead story, an American space capsule touches down deep in a forgotten jungle. Tarzan aids two astronauts in avoiding the prehistoric animals that reside there. Starting with this issue,
Russ Manning begins illustrating the title character on a regular basis. Two Tarzan stories and a Brothers of the Spear tale are adeptly drawn by the artist. The opening tale stands out in its depictions of Giant saber-tooth tigers, sloths and hyenas. "Descent into the Past" was later reprinted in
Tarzan #202. Other artists in this silver age adventure comic include Nat Edson. Cover by George Wilson. This is number 116 of 133
Tarzan issues by
Manning.
