Wartime Romances v1 #8, 1952 - Growing up wealthy, Margaret falls for a handsome serviceman. After they marry, she realizes the life of an army wife is far more difficult than she imagined. The layouts are purposefully designed by Matt Baker, enhancing his supple drawings. Decorative banners frame the main character's narration, providing additional flourish. His opening panel, magnificently depicts an opulent party full of high society types. Baker's segmented cover is merely adequate, and unrelated to his feature story. Additionally, the tale "No One Wanted Me" is often mis-attributed to Baker. This is 8 of 18 Wartime Romances issues by Baker.
