World's Finest Comics v1 #270, 1981 - Arriving at the Potter family's home, Billy Batson encounters an alien beast who purports to be their long missing son. Despite the plot's awkward beginning, Don Newton handles the art chores competently overall. As the setting transports to a planet in a distant galaxy, the artist employs more spacious and exciting layouts. On page seven, Newton is at his best depicting Captain Marvel hurling a flying saucer in space. This story was later reprinted in Shazam! The World's Mightiest Mortal #3. This issue also includes artwork by Trevor Von Eeden, Romeo Tanghal and Rich Buckler. This is 18 of 28 World's Finest Comics by Newton.
