True Secrets #36 - Matt Baker art

True Secrets #36
True Secrets v1 #36, 1956 - Buried in her schoolbooks, Peggy realizes she has no date for the upcoming junior prom. Matt Baker's art has a high level of detail, thoughtful layouts and precise pacing, marking this story as among his finest for Atlas Comics. The first page alone is striking, juxtaposing two attractive girls against a background of lively campus activity. Each panel layout is different, working together to form the larger page composition. The ending has far less dialogue than usual, allowing more space of Baker's gentle delineations. Other artists in this golden age comic include Jay Scott Pike and Vince Colletta. This is 3 of 4 True Secrets issues by Baker.
