Real Fact Comics #1 |
Real Fact Comics v1 #1, 1946 - Projecting the future,
Jack Kirby illustrates two pages on rocketry and technology in this
first issue. The artist combines innovative layouts with precise drawings, beautifully inked by frequent partner Joe Simon. Perhaps due to the subject matter, the enthusiasm behind the art is palpable. A second tale chronicles Jean Lafitte, the pirate who fought with the Americans in the War of 1812. Perhaps not surprisingly, Kirby shows great skill in depicting historical events. "Pirate or Patriot?" was reprinted in
Mister Miracle #4. "Rocket Lanes of Tomorrow" appeared in
Hawkman #26,
Mystery in Space #4 and
New Gods #6. This issue also includes artwork by Dick Sprang. This is 1 of 3
