Machine Man v1 #19, 1981 - In this final issue of the series, Machine Man fends off an attack by the Jack O' Lantern at a Halloween party (where else?). Aside from the title page, Steve Ditko's work shows a severe lack of effort. Both his drawings and layouts look hastily executed. On the other hand, Frank Miller's cover is superbly choreographed, fitting in a multitude of stand-by witnesses without feeling crowded. Note the banner torn in half in the heat of the battle. Jack O' Lantern makes his first appearance in this copper age comic.
