Joe Kubert
Our Fighting Forces v1 #40, 1958 - A young GI is perplexed why seasoned soldiers never say anything, until he finally discovers for himself. An excellent opening splash leads the way into a sequence of well designed layouts. Combined with Joe Kubert's high level of detail and effort, this tale stands out in his long run on the series. If only the artist put as much energy into his unusually sparse cover design. This cover was later reprinted in G.I. War Tales #4. Other artists in this golden age comic include Jerry Grandenetti and Jack Abel. This is 26 of 110 Our Fighting Forces issues by Kubert.
