Steve Ditko golden age science fiction 1950s charlton comic book cover - Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds #3
Steve Ditko
Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds v1 #3, 1957 - Mermaid sightings, medieval worlds, underground civilizations and distant planetary outposts are themes in this issue's four Steve Ditko tales. Each is stylishly drawn and composed. "A World Where I Was King" is the most detailed (see interior page below) compared to the others, but "A Forgotten World" is more inventive in its layouts. There's slight variances in artistic approach, but Ditko overall shows off his skillfulness in each. All are better than the clumsily proportioned cover design. "The Strange Guests Of Tsarus" was later reprinted in Space War v2 #31. Other artists in this golden age comic include Rocco Mastroserio and Sal Trapani. This is 1 of 18 Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds issues by Ditko.
