Unusual Tales #14 - Steve Ditko art

Unusual Tales #14
Unusual Tales v1 #14, 1958 - While digging on his land, a local farmer unearths a petrified giant figure. Astonished, he calls in scientists from the state university. Some panels are more detailed than others, but overall Steve Ditko delivers a largely competent effort. The page layouts are well planned and adequately paced. The drawings themselves are distinctive, especially the characters' faces (see interior page below). In Ditko's second tale, a man awakens from a three month coma and begins to see odd, blank-faced people. The artist expends much less effort than the previous story, evidenced in the lack of background scenery. "Giant from the Unknown" was later reprinted in Monster Hunters #14. This is 8 of 18 Unusual Tales issues by Ditko.
