Tarzan #98 |
Tarzan v1 #98,
1957 - Natongo and Dan-El go to the aid of King Molithi, whose men are outnumbered by an enemy tribe. When forced to find cover among giant boulders, it's Tavane and Zulena who come their husbands' rescue.
Russ Manning's linework continues to struggle with sharpness and clarity. This is offset by the majority of well-designed drawings within the panels. His finest moment is the inside front cover pin-up page. Though only in black and white, the underwater scene of Tarzan fighting a giant octopus is exceptional. Other artists in this issue include Jesse Marsh (on the lead Tarzan feature). Photo cover. This is 60 of 133
Tarzan issues by
Manning.
