Tarzan v1 #52, 1954 - Hot on the trail of the evil witch doctor, the Brothers of the Spear pursue their quarry into a hidden valley. Russ Manning's back-up story begins with overcrowded layouts, but eventually opens to a beautifully drawn vista (see interior page below). This issue marks some flexibility on his part, deviating from the norm despite the short page count. Manning also continues his fine detailing, a characteristic of his early works. Other artists in this golden age comic include Jesse Marsh. This is 14 of 133 Tarzan issues by Manning.
