Our Army at War #152 - Joe Kubert art & cover

Joe Kubert
Our Army at War v1 #152 featuring Sgt. Rock, 1965 - Transporting a group of young replacements, Rock inspires them with stories of uncommon heroes within Easy company. This full length tale leaves out the usual supporting characters until the end. Joe Kubert obscures the faces of the new soldiers, emphasizing the unit over individuals. Overall, the artwork is bit loose and the finishes imprecise. Even Kubert's cover, with its poor foreshortening, borders on amateurish. This story was later reprinted in G.I. Combat #149. Other artists in this DC silver age war comic include Morris Waldinger. This is number 89 of 235 Our Army at War issues with Kubert art and/or covers (not including reprints).
