Creepy #11 - Frank Frazetta cover, Steve Ditko art

Frank Frazetta
Creepy v1 #11, 1966Frank Frazetta's King Kong-inspired cover is less gripping than his other efforts on the same series. On the other hand, Steve Ditko excels with his tale of a brutish carnival freak that believes he's more man than beast. Plenty of dialogue fills smallish panels throughout the pages. Despite this, Ditko's carefully constructed drawings and layouts stand out from the rest of the issue. This story was reprinted in Eerie v3 #135. Other artists in this bronze age magazine include Reed Crandall and Angelo Torres.
