Walt Disney's Donald Duck / Four Color Comics v2 #408, 1952 - Working as a museum security guard, Donald finds an ancient map with the location of a golden viking helmet. Can he and the boys get to Labrador before a seedy character lays claim to it? Carl Barks' cover contains the essential story elements within an impressively cohesive design. Inside, icebergs, rugged coastlines and churning sea waters are meticulously detailed. The story's most amusing moments occur on the first page, as Donald makes his rounds in the museum. Barks inserts nonsensical artifacts such as the headless horseman's toupee and Lady Godiva's laundry bag. This golden age story was was later reprinted in Best of Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge #1. This is 24 of 43 Donald Duck issues by Barks.
