Our Army at War #73 - Joe Kubert art & cover

Our Army at War v1 #73, 1958 - Assigned to protecting an ammo supply, a lone GI finds himself constantly targeted by the enemy. Both cover and main story are Joe Kubert works, but his interior pages are more precisely drawn. Layout and sequencing are carefully considered, but careful not to detract from the storytelling. Kubert also uses occasional target symbols as am effective metaphor (see interior page below). This story was later reprinted in G.I. Combat #144 and G.I. War Tales #3. Other artists in this golden age comic include Russ Heath. This is 19 of 236 Our Army at War issues by Kubert.
