Creepy #112 - Al Williamson, Walt Simonson, Alex Nino art

Creepy #112
Creepy v1 #112, 1979Walt Simonson is tasked with illustrating the rescue of a spaceship within massive space creature. His eclectic style is rich and textural, similar to Alex Nino's sword and sorcery tale in the same issue. Whereas Simonson's drawings are more engaging and friendly, Nino's work is far more complex and designed. Both stories deserve merit but it's Al Williamson's tale of one spaceman's search through alternate universes that stands out. Precise linework and dramatic divisions between light and dark result in an exceptional effort within his beloved science fiction genre. This story was later reprinted in Creepy #137. Other artists in this bronze age magazine include John Severin. This is 11 of 14 Creepy issues by Nino, 7 of 7 Creepy issues by Simonson and 8 of 8 Creepy issues by Williamson. /// Nino gallery / Simonson gallery
