World's Finest Comics #257 |
World's Finest Comics v1 #257, 1979 - Captain Marvel encounters a seemingly unbeatable foe who calls himself Invincible Man. Still early in his run on the series, Don Newton draws the Shazam feature with gusto. Despite the busy, convoluted opening splash, the artist proves himself more than capable at portraying the Marvel family and supporting characters. Inker Kurt Schaffenberger remains faithful to Newton's pencils. This story was later reprinted in
Shazam! The World's Mightiest Mortal #3. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Dick Dillin, Jose Delbo, Frank McLaughlin and George Tuska. Cover by Jim Aparo. This is 5 of 28
