Matt Baker |
Going Steady v1 #14, 1955 - Matt Baker presents a young couple placed beside their future aspirations perhaps. Like previous covers of this series, the artist seems to take greater care with the composition. His rendering is also unusual, employing more crosshatching than usual. The result is a softer, dreamier effect. Inside the issue, a quartet of Baker reprints fills the book. These include: "Unfair to My Boy Friend" (originally titled "I Betrayed My Sweetheart") from Teen-Age Romances #19), "Love's Worst Enemy - Suspicion" (from Teen-Age Romances #21), "Love Isn't for Deceivers" and "The Runaround" (both from Teen-Age Romances #18). This is 5 of 5 Going Steady issues by Baker.
