Neal Adams |
Savage Sword of Conan v1 #2, 1974 - Visiting a local baron, King Kull uncovers a sinister ritual involving a gargantuan slug. Neal Adams provides partial inks (as one of the Crusty Bunkers) over Howard Chaykin's pencils. His hand is most evident at the story's climax, where Kull prevents a human sacrifice (pages 8-10). His contribution, though recognizable, is too small to make a significant and lasting impact. This story was later reprinted in
Conan annual #3. By comparison, Adams' iconic cover is among his best depictions of Conan. Other artists in this bronze age magazine include Gil Kane and Alfredo Alcala. This is 2 of 6
