Neal Adams |
House of Secrets v1 #86, 1970 - A Gepetto-ish puppeteer dozes in his chair while cradling one of his creations. Two children cautiously observe him from the stairwell. Neal Adams' cover is noticeably less horrific than his usual covers, but no less creepy. The Victorian portrait and gas lamp in the background reinforce the man's old age. Adams' small details, such as the tattered curtains and cobwebs, effectively convey the home's decrepit state. Other artists in this bronze age comic include George Tuska, Gray Morrow, Bill Draut and Jack Sparling. This is 5 of 9
