Savage Sword of Conan #44 - Marshall Rogers art

Savage Sword of Conan #44
Savage Sword of Conan v1 #44, 1979 - An embattled Conan fends off winged demons while supporting a scantily clad female. While not an uncommon theme, Marshall Rogers does fine a job with the drawing and composition. Lines of perspective are added to increase depth in an otherwise flat background. As far as I know, this is Rogers' only rendition of the character. Other artists in this bronze age magazine include Bob Larkin, Sal Buscema and Tony DeZuniga. This is 1 of 1 Savage Sword of Conan issues by Rogers.

That illustration was originally published in FOOM #14 (the Conan issue) back in 1976. It is, indeed, a beautiful image--and a very early example of Marshall Rogers' work.
