Weird War Tales #52 - non-attributed Marshall Rogers art, Joe Kubert cover

Joe Kubert
Weird War Tales v1 #52, 1977 - Concluding one of the "Tales of the Great Disaster", John Temple-Smythe (canine mayor of Canterbury) leaps onto the enormous insect that's been besieging his city. Like the previous chapter, Marshall Rogers handles the artistic chores magnificently. His linework varies from graphically thick to delicately applied, increasing depth and interest as needed. The artwork culminates in the final panel, displaying a triumphant portrait of the city and its residents. This story was later reprinted in Shadow of the Batman #3. By contrast, Joe Kubert's cover seems like standard fare. Other artists in this bronze age war comic include Frank Redondo and Tenny Henson. This is 16 of 52 Weird War Tales issues by Kubert and 2 of 2 Weird War Tales issues by Rogers.
