Frank Miller |
Daredevil v1 #163, 1980 - Hopelessly outmatched, Daredevil must stop the Hulk's rampage through Manhattan at any cost. On
Frank Miller's cover, only the behemoth's hand and projected shadow are enough to reveal his presence. Inside, small crowded panels eventually give way to roomier ones, increasing the sense of scale. Miller's fight scenes are frenetic, contrasting against more ordinary sequences, such as Bruce Banner's flight to the subway. The artist frames the panels in black to suggest an underground, almost claustrophobic feel. Miller continue to experiment with visual metaphors, layout and pacing. This is 5 of 33
