Wyatt Earp v2 #13
Wyatt Earp v2 #13, 1961Alex Toth does a credible job with his short story of a man hired to rustle some nearby cattle. His details start to wane toward the final pages, but the first page of a typical western saloon is expertly drawn (see interior page below). The opening panel is especially good, showing just the right amount of information to establish the setting. Note how the artist cloaks the sitting man's identity, suggesting an unknown factor in the plot. Russ Manning draws a small, but efficient illustration for one of the text stories. Other artists in this issue include Dan Spiegle. This is 2 of 2 Wyatt Earp v2 issues by Toth and 13 of 13 Wyatt Earp v2 issues by Manning. /// Manning gallery
