Secrets of Haunted House v1 #41, 1981 - Steve Ditko's tale tells of a convict and his girlfriend breaking into an old abandoned house. In general, the drawings appear rushed but largely meets expectations. Perhaps unintentionally, some of Ditko's final scenes border on the phallic.
Joe Kubert's two-tiered cover is brightly colored yet more than adequate for the task. Other artists in this copper age comic include Greg LaRocque, Vince Colletta, Noly Zamora, Charles Nicholas, Dan Spiegle and John Celardo. This is 3 of 4

I particularly like the two vertical panels; the perspective of the crook kicking open the door is effective.

I have a love/hate relationship with Ditko's late bronze age works, particularly his DC stuff. I've been pleasantly surprised by some of his early 1970s Charlton issues though. I plan on posting his 1950s and 1960s works in the near term.
