Space 1999 v1 #3, 1976 - John Byrne begins a short run on this science fiction series, based on the television show starring Martin Landau and Barbara Bain. This is one of only three Charlton titles (including
Doomsday +1 and
E-man) he drew regularly at the start of his career. Despite his lack of experience, the likenesses of the actors are surprisingly good. On page three, a full page splash nicely establishes the setting with a bird's eye view. While not among his best known comics, the artwork hints at Byrne's potential.
