Journey Into Mystery #33 - Al Williamson, Steve Ditko art

Journey Into Mystery #33
Journey Into Mystery v1 #33, 1956 - A pirate ship picks up an old man on a raft, with the intent of adding another member to their ranks. Al Williamson's drawings have a spontaneity not uncommon in his 1950s works. This one, unfortunately, cries out for more definition from inker Gray Morrow. Steve Ditko tells a tale about a dissatisfied heir who rails against a wealthy ancestor. His background details are admirable, but the character's faces are a bit sloppy in execution. Still, he meets expectations. This is 1 of 49 Journey Into Mystery issues by Ditko and 1 of 4 Journey Into Mystery issues by Williamson.
