Lassie #21 |
Lassie v1 #21, 1955 - Matt Baker's first of three stories is slow to start, looser, and slightly less detailed than the previous issue. By page three he hits his stride, culminating in some superb panels depicting a storm at sea. Each tale opens with a relative small panel, confining the tone and excitement of each setting. Baker regardless demonstrates his fine draftsmanship throughout, especially in the close-ups of characters' faces. "Treasure of Orinoco" benefits from many exotic details, becoming more apparent as the story progresses. This is 2 of 3 Lassie issues by Baker.
