Marvel Team-Up #65 - John Byrne art + 1st Captain Britain appearance in US

Marvel Team Up #65
Marvel Team-Up v1 #65, 1978 - Captain Britain, a Marvel character created for the UK market, makes his first US appearance. Meeting the Amazing Spider-man for the first time, the hero retells his origin, set in the ancient ruins of Stonehenge. This flashback also conveniently brings US audiences up to speed on this little-known character. John Byrne is tasked with drawing his first stateside adventure, a good effort that just meets expectations. Dave Hunt continues his run as series inker, streamlining and softening the pencils with mixed results. Arcade makes his cameo debut, obscured by shadows in five panels. His first full appearance occurs next issue. Cover by George Perez and Joe Sinnott. This is 10 of 22 Marvel Team-Up issues by Byrne. /// key 1st appearance in US comics, 1st cover, 1st origin Brian Braddock as Captain Britain / Byrne gallery
