Jack Kirby
Fantastic Four v1 #93, 1969 - Whisked away to the Skrull planet, the Thing must fight in a gladiator arena in order to save Earth. Oddly enough, the shape-shifting Skrulls choose to emulate the gangsters of the 1930s. Jack Kirby captures the era faithfully from the clothing and hairstyles to the buildings and automobiles (especially page 17). Competently drawn, the high point is the full page splash of the Thing recoiling from a punch.
