Dr. Strange v1 #179, 1969 - Instead of new material, the series abruptly reprints the first meeting between Spider-man and Doctor Strange. Originally from Amazing Spider-man Annual #2, it showcases artwork by Steve Ditko. A new cover by Barry Smith is his first published rendition of the web-slinger. Unfortunately, it's amateurish and poorly drawn. Typical of his earliest efforts, the figures are stiffly rendered within an ill-conceived layout. This is 1 of 1 Doctor Strange issues by Smith.
