Journey into Mystery #50 - Matt Baker, Steve Ditko art

Journey into Mystery #50
Journey into Mystery v1 #50, 1959 - In Matt Baker's tale, a greenish fog accompanies the return of Earth's greatest astronaut. People panic when they're unable to analyze it. Not really his genre, Baker proves himself adept at science fiction as he is at romance and western tales. Steve Ditko superbly draws the story of three different scientists vanishing from three separate excursions. Innovative layouts and pacing make this story a standout. Despite being a brief 5 pages long, this is among Ditko's best works for Atlas. Other artists in this comic include Jack Davis. Cover by Joe Sinnott. This is 2 of 2 Journey Into Mystery issues by Baker and 3 of 49 Journey Into Mystery issues by Ditko.
