Detective Comics #470 |
Detective Comics v1 #470, 1977 - Following a hunch, the Batman arrives at city's nuclear power planet for a final confrontation with Dr. Phosphorus. Once again, Walt Simonson's artwork is marred by Al Milgrom's poor inking. Several of the characters are harshly rendered (including Silver St. Cloud, a making her first appearance as a possible love interest to Bruce Wayne). The overall lack of detail makes the drawings seem crude and unfinished. This issue frankly hits a low point in Simonson's bronze age run. This story was later reprinted in the Batman Strange Apparitions trade paperback. Cover by Jim Aparo. This is 10 of 12 Detective Comics issues by Simonson. /// key 1st appearance Silver St. Cloud
