Detective Comics #470 - Walt Simonson art

Detective Comics v1 #470, 1977 - Following a hunch, the Batman arrives at city's nuclear power planet for a final confrontation with Dr. Phosphorus. Once again, Walt Simonson's artwork is marred by Al Milgrom's poor inking. Several of the characters are harshly rendered (including Silver St. Cloud, making her first appearance). The overall lack of detail makes the drawings seem crude and unfinished. This issue frankly hits a low point in Simonson's bronze age run. Other artists in this issue include Jim Aparo (cover). This is number 10 of 11 Detective Comics issues with Simonson art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Simonson or Detective Comics issues. See also this blog's Walt Simonson checklist.
