Eclipse the Magazine #1 - Marshall Rogers, Jim Starlin art

Eclipse the Magazine v1 #1, 1981 - Set in a future metropolis, the bird-like Klonsbon the Foozle is introduced by Steve Englehart and Marshall Rogers. The complex plot and wide array of strange characters are echoed by the intricately detailed artwork. Rogers expends much effort but the results are mixed. Interestingly, the visuals become a bit clearer in the reprinted color version in The Foozle #3Jim Starlin tells of a man undergoing torture at the hands of Satan. Told in verse, the imagery is both strange and surreal. Other artists in this issue include Paul Gulacy, Dan Maitz, Howard Cruse, P. Craig Russell, Trina Robbins and Terry Beatty. This is number 1 of 8 Eclipse Magazine issues with Rogers art and/or covers and number 1 of 1 Eclipse Magazine issues with Starlin art and/or covers.
