Wartime Romances #17 - Matt Baker cover

Matt Baker
Wartime Romances v1 #17, 1953 - Despite warnings from his buddy, a sailor pursues the most attractive woman in the bar. Matt Baker's mastery of facial expressions captures both the sailor's excitement and the woman's seductive glance. Supporting the fine figure drawings, the artist fills in rich details: drinks, cigarettes, wine bottles and sports photos behind the bartender. One can only imagine the conversation between the older man and younger woman in the far background. Other artists in this issue include Jim Mooney and Mike Sekowsky. This is number 17 of 18 Wartime Romances issues with Baker art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Baker or Wartime Romances issues. Se also this blog's Matt Baker checklist.
