The Texan v1 #15, 1951 - Despite the title, it's odd that the last four covers primarily feature indians. Matt Baker's cover suggests a plot within an indian tribe, reflecting the theme of his interior story. The drawings are supple and streamlined, especially his opening panel of a horse theft in progress. In the same scene, a rifle, knife and bow are angled to converge, pointing to the thief in the distance. This is number 11 of 11 Texan issues with Baker art and/or covers. New format tweaks continue, hopefully improving the site. All posts now have large scans of both covers and interior pages. All scans are now captioned, credited to the featured artist on this blog. Any feedback is appreciated.
