Weird War Tales #7 - Joe Kubert art, cover & reprint

Weird War Tales v1 #7 dc bronze age comic book cover art by Joe Kubert
Joe Kubert
Weird War Tales v1 #7, 1972 - Joe Kubert's eerie cover shows the grim reaper reaching out to a blind and desperate soldier. The arrival of death is cleverly suggested only in shadow. Most of the interior stories are reprints (including a Kubert tale from All-American Men of War #41). The artist does contribute five excellent framing pages, interspersed throughout the contents. The dialogue is minimal, allowing the visuals to come to the fore (see interior page below). Like other early Weird War issues, readers can make a comparison of Kubert's work from two different decades. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Russ Heath. This is 7 of 52 Weird War Tales issues by Kubert.
