4. Warlock v1 #10, 1975 - Thanos joins Warlock in his fight against the Church of Universal Truth. Jim Starlin's chaotic cover prefaces a battle against overwhelming odds. The opening splash's view directly from above is jarring, but firmly establishes the setting. A variety of layouts follow, each visually arresting and appropriate. A second full page depicts the main characters against a dazzling technological backdrop. The story also has a brief interlude, recapping Thanos' history and events that occurred previously in Captain Marvel #25-33. These pages and more make this issue Starlin's best in the series. This story was later reprinted in Warlock v2 #3 and Fantasy Masterpieces v2 #13. This is 2 of 7 Warlock issues by Starlin. /// Top 10 Starlin comics / Starlin gallery
