Christmas Parade #9 - Carl Barks art

Christmas Parade #9
(Walt Disney's) Christmas Parade v1 / Dell Giant #9, 1958 - Waging a bet with a fellow billionaire, Uncle Scrooge asks Donald Duck and his nephews to find the tallest Christmas tree for the town square. Carl Barks' artwork is enhanced by his deft visual storytelling. Large panels are filled with expressive characters, conveying both their actions and emotions. On the last page, the vertically-inclined panel breaks the regular format, nicely emphasizing the tree's height. This story was later reprinted in Walt Disney Comics Digest #18 and Christmas Parade v3 #11191. Other Disney characters featured in this issue include Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Snow White, Chip n' Dale, Grandma Duck and Daisy Duck. This is 4 of 5 Christmas Parade issues by Barks. /// Barks gallery
