Captain America #313 - John Byrne / (non-attributed) Al Williamson cover, Williamson art, mis-attributed Byrne art

John Byrne / Al Williamson
Captain America v1 #313, 1985 - John Byrne's cover is oddly composed, placing three figures nearly on top of one another. The coloration doesn't clarify the relative distances between them, sacrificing depth. Still, the illustration itself commands attention and Al Williamson's inks add sufficient polish. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for his interiors, where Williamson brings little of his talents to bear on Paul Neary's pencils (not Byrne). This is number 14 of 15 Captain America issues with Byrne art and/or covers and number 1 of 1 Captain America issues with Williamson art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Byrne, Williamson or Captain America issues. See also this blog's Byrne checklist or Williamson checklist.
