Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #47
Walt Disney's Comics and Stories v1 #47, 1944 - Receiving a trained falcon as a gift, Donald and his nephews struggle with the responsibilities. When the bird (Farragut) escapes, the entire neighborhood suffers the consequences. Carl Barks seems to revel in the ensuing mayhem and violence. Page 9, with its aerial battle between falcon and motorized toy plane, is notable for its clean design and page layout. This story was later reprinted in >Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #302. Other artists in this golden age comic include Paul Murry. Cover by Walt Kelly. This is 16 of 280 Walt Disney's Comics and Stories issues by Barks.
