Monsters Unleashed #1
Monsters Unleashed v1 #1, 1973 - Set during colonial times, Solomon Kane ignores warnings from locals to stay away from the moors. A demonic encounter soon follows. From the creator of Conan the Barbarian comes a Puritan hero who fearlessly fights the supernatural. Though not featured on the cover, his brief story marks his first appearance in comics. This Robert E. Howard story was adapted by Roy Thomas and drawn by Ralph Reese. A few panels on pages 39,42,43 were likely inked by Neal Adams, aiding a fellow member of the "Crusty Bunkers". Other artists in this issue include Syd Shores and Pablo Marcos. Cover by Gray Morrow. This is 1 of 2 Monsters Unleashed issues by Adams. /// key 1st appearance in comics Solomon Kane, 1st issue
