Al Hubbard |
Lady and the Tramp (Dell Giant) v1 #1, 1955 - Coming out the same year as the Disney film, this one shot first issue is basically a comic book adaptation. An oversized issue, the longer page count allows Al Hubbard to more closely match the pacing and storytelling of the movie. His renditions of the characters are superb, giving each of them a personality and an aesthetic. No wonder he would be assigned to most of the Disney animated film adaptions over the decades. The script was written by Don Christensen. /// key 1st appearance in comics, 1st cover Lady and the Tramp, 1st issue, Specialty issue (movie) / select Hubbard art & cover
