Batman Nevermore v1 #5, 2003 - Combining Batman and Edgar Allen Poe makes sense in this Elseworlds series. Characters from Gotham City fit nicely into a Victorian setting, including the hero himself. In this final issue, Bernie Wrightson illustrates a final confrontation between the 19th century versions of Batman and the Scarecrow. A hallucinatory scene, the bands of primary colors in the background are cleverly subtle. Other artists in this issue include Guy Davis. This is 5 of 5 Batman Nevermore issues by Wrightson.
