Star Spangled War Stories v1 #197, 1976 - During World War II, a small troop of Marines check out a tiny atoll while the big battle occurs on a larger island. Mike Kaluta only provides the inks on this story, but does a stand out job. The detailed brushwork dominates the pencils. His fine details make the artwork surpass even the main Unknown Soldier feature. The Joe Kubert cover is not among his best.
