Astonishing Tales #11 - 1st Ka-Zar origin

Astonishing Tales #11
Astonishing Tales v1 #11, 1972 - Nearly a decade since his introduction, Ka-Zar's origin is told for the first time. From his father's discovery of the Savage Land to his first encounter with the sabre-toothed Zabu, this Roy Thomas story fills in the hero's past in flashback form. His father Lord Plunder and brother Parnival (who later becomes the Plunderer) are part of his recollections. Gil Kane and Frank Giacoia proudly illustrate the jungle lord's beginnings. This story was later reprinted in Savage Tales Annual #1. Cover by Kane. /// key 1st origin Ka-Zar
