Happy Comics #30 |
Happy Comics v1 #30, 1949 - An ambitious mouse, an unpopular sheep and a wistful bear are the main characters in this issue's text stories. Frank Frazetta's accompanying illustrations are ample in size, roughly a fourth of the page. His drawings are well rendered and his compositions better than average. However, this a lack of fine details, usually present even in his "funny animal" works. In the worst case, "Coalie the Lamb" is completely devoid of the modeling and brushwork typical of Frazetta. Without his signature, the artwork would be unrecognizable. Other artists in this golden age comic include Don Arr and Vincent Fago. This is 10 of 17 Happy Comics issues by Frazetta.
