Our Fighting Forces #24 - Joe Kubert art

Our Fighting Forces #24
Our Fighting Forces v1 #24, 1957 - Preparing for the D-Day invasion, an ambitious private aspires to be the first one over the Atlantic Wall. Only later does he realize the term refers to the entire Nazi blockade. Joe Kubert compensates for his straightforward layouts with clever three-panel sequencing, varying the story pacing. The main character's imagined wall makes the visuals more interesting, particularly on Kubert's tense opening splash. This story was later reprinted in Our Army at War #237. Other artists in this golden age comic include Jerry Grandenetti and Russ Heath. This is 14 of 110 Our Fighting Forces issues by Kubert.
